Nuffic Neso Vietnam Scholarship Seminar in Hochiminh and Hanoi November 2008
02 Dec 2008
Neso Vietnam has organized its first ever Scholarship Information Seminar in Hochiminh City to provide Vietnamese students with detailed information on scholarships, how and where to apply.
The Netherlands has many scholarships available for Vietnamese students, scholars and professionals. These funds range from government scholarships, university scholarships to business scholarships such as the Orange Tulip Scholarship.
Currently more than one thousand Vietnamese students are studying in The Netherlands and many of them have received such scholarships. But only a small number of all the available Dutch scholarships are being used. The reason seems to be that these funds are not known to Vietnamese students or that it is unclear how to apply.
That is why Nuffic Neso Vietnam organizes Scholarship Information Seminars in Vietnam to inform attendees about the types of scholarships, their criteria, how, when to apply and where to find additional information. The first seminars took place in Hochiminh City and in Hanoi but in the future seminars will be organized in other cities and provinces as well.

During the first seminar in Hochiminh City almost three hundred students and parents joined the event and listened to presentations of Neso Vietnam director Malte Stokhof and Neso student counselor Ms Nhi. Many of the attendees posed questions and Neso is developing a Frequently Asked Questions list. That will be updated after each seminar. A similar seminar was held in Hanoi on 8 November 2008 and attracted 170 attendees. Please see our Neso upcoming activities list to find out when a Neso will organize a seminar at a location near you.
